Our Memorial Day weekend

We had lots of reserved energy from the long winter to vent during the memorial day weekend. As we waited desperately for a pleasant and sunny holiday, forecasted bad weather deterred us from making plans to watery places (beaches, water parks....) . However a last minute mind change by the weather gods saw a very sunny weekend and we driving to the the "Six-Flags Adventure" parks in Jackson, NJ.

Day 1:
As always me and priyanka started an hour late. We arrived at Jersey City to pick Neeraj and Amrutha for our weekend extravaganza.... :) . They showed us that they were no pushovers and matched us with more than an hour of delay. Anyway we finally ...finally... embarked on our trip at 10:30. But then we rejoiced a bit to early to loose our way and end up returning to where we started out from. But that was the only glitch in priyanka's navigation for the day before she settled to then guide us along. :))
Our first stop at the Six flags was the cafe area where we munched a few chips and gulped cola.. before we proceeded to the Safari.
After a broef stopover to cater to the demands of our hungry stomach's we rushed to the Adventure parks...
Some highlights of the day...
  • Priyanka hit bullseye to fetch a soft toy for us.

Day2:
After all the excitement and activities on day 1, day 2 saw a very late start with everyone waking up late in the morning. After watching the tamil movie "kaakha kaakha" for most part in the morning, we finally made a start at 11am to the Walmart Stores to pick up our swimwears.
We arrived at the six-flags hurricane harbour after our now familiar traffic problems to be greeted by very few people and a hot sunny afternoon. Unfortunately, after the inital euphoria around the first couple of rides, the park had very less to offer and left us high n dry. I was looking forward to the water park more than anything after our wonderful experience at Veega Land, Kochi Kerala.
We then drove back to Jersey city to drop Neeraj and Amrutha, where we dinned at "Amiya" --an indian restaurant. The food was good ... a spicy end to an eventful adventure. After a pleasing river side walk and lots of gappe ...., we returned back home late at 3:00 am only to venture into a long sleep that never saw the end till late in the afternoon.....
